Exceptional Visit to the Accelerator on IJS Open Day

On Saturday, March 29, 2025, the Open Day took place at the Microanalytical Center (MIC) as part of the Jožef Stefan Days. Visitors were introduced to the concept of an ion accelerator and had the opportunity to tour the experimental hall, where we prepared several fascinating demonstrations related to physics in everyday life. The youngest guests particularly enjoyed watching what happens to marshmallow in a vacuum chamber, while everyone was amazed by the sight of small particles levitating in an ion trap.

In total, around 400 visitors attended the event throughout the day.
