    • A Beautiful Saturday at the Open Day of the Accelerator

    On Saturday, March 30, 2026, the Microanalytical Center (MIC) hosted an Open Day as part of the Jožef Stefan Days. Visitors were introduced to the recently upgraded ion accelerator, after which they were able to tour the experimental hall. Above all, a team of younger collaborators prepared several interesting demonstrations and experiments that connect physics with everyday life. The youngest visitors especially enjoyed the experiments, and the response was wonderful. Over the course of the day, across five time slots, approximately 300 visitors attended.     A Beautiful Saturday at the Open Day of the Accelerator

    On Saturday, March 30, 2026, an Open Day took place at the Microanalytical Center (MIC) as part of the Jožef Stefan Days. In pleasant weather and a friendly atmosphere, it once again became clear that interest in natural sciences is very much alive.

    The official opening of the Tandetron accelerator took place in an exceptional atmosphere

    At the Reactor Centre of the Jožef Stefan Institute, a new tandem ion accelerator, Tandetron, was launched. With an accelerating voltage of up to three million volts, it enables more precise research and wider range of applications, while significantly improving research conditions and the institute’s international standing.

    Presentation of the SQORPION Project at the National EDF Info Day

    The Slovenian Business & Research Association from Brussels (SBRA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence (MORS), organized a national EDF Info Day, where the current European Defence Fund call was presented in detail. As a successful example of an ongoing project, the Jožef Stefan Institute and its role in the SQORPION project were presented.
