Official Opening of the Accelerator in Exactly Two Weeks

On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, we are preparing the official opening of the renovated ion accelerator. Along with the visit of distinguished guests, we are also looking forward to an excellent musical performance on this occasion. Meanwhile, intensive activities are taking place at the accelerator, and with the final calibrations of the beamlines, operational use is beginning. Already this week we are observing successful measurements of samples on the XRF beamline, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr Matjaž Kavčič.

Outstanding Recognition - The Ecological Laboratory with Mobile Unit (ELME) is this year’s recipient of the Civil Protection statuette

The central national ceremony marking Civil Protection Day took place yesterday at the Congress Centre Brdo pri Kranju. The highest national award in the field of protection against natural and other disasters, the Civil Protection statuette, was presented to the Ecological Laboratory with Mobile Unit.

The Accelerator Is Now Officially commissioned

Testing of the accelerator components has been completed and the system has been handed over to the F2 team. After the final works are completed, additional radiation monitoring by SVPIS will follow, and regular measurements are expected in approximately two weeks.
