Colleagues from the F2 department have developed and tested a novel fully electrostatic detector capable of measuring the complete six-dimensional phase space of low-energy ion beams with high precision.

Testing of the new accelerator with a beam

This week, a variety of tests of the new accelerator are being carried out under different operating conditions. The testing is performed using a beam of silicon ions as well as a proton beam.

Night Hike to Dražgoše

Some members of the department took part in the traditional night hike Železniki – Ratitovec – Dražgoše, organized by the Železniki Mountaineering Society. The 10-hour hike took place in idyllic winter conditions.
