Night Hike to Dražgoše

Some members of the F2 department recently participated in the traditional night hike Železniki – Ratitovec – Dražgoše, excellently organized by the Železniki Mountaineering Society. The 10-hour hike, with a midnight start and a few breaks along the way, passed by in the blink of an eye in ideal winter conditions. Perhaps an idea for broader participation and a mini team-building event?

The First Testing of the Upgraded Accelerator has Begun

The upgrade of the accelerator is nearing completion, and today the first official tests with an ion beam at high accelerating voltage are taking place. The testing is being carried out in cooperation with a representative of the manufacturer on one side and under the supervision of the official Slovenian authorities for protection against ionizing radiation on the other.

In the annual call of the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS), colleagues from our department were successful with as many as five project proposals.
