Prof. Dr Iztok Arčon is primarily researching the analysis of the atomic and molecular structure of new materials by X-ray absorption spectroscopy with synchrotron light. As stated in the award explanation, Prof. Dr Arčon made a key contribution to the development, usability and accessibility of X-ray absorption measuring techniques with synchrotron light in Slovenia and internationally. Open Day on Accelerator

On Saturday 23.3. an open day was organized at the Microanalytical Center (MIC) at the Podgorica Reactor Centre. The number of visitors exceeded all expectations.

Brakethrough Article in Nuclear Materials and Energy Journal

Study of the location of deuterium in displacement-damaged tungsten by nuclear reaction analysis in channeling configuration was published last week in the prestigious Nuclear Materials and Energy Journal.

The article discusses the design and characterization of innovative bismuth germanate (BGO) scintillation detectors, used to filter out the Compton continuum from the spectra, acquired by high-purity germanium (HPGe) detectors.
