New Goniometer at MIC

The new 6-axis goniometer with cooling and heating capabilities was installed at the INSIBA vacuum chamber on the ERDA/RBS beam line of our tandem accelerator. The goniometer will enable us to align the samples with high precision such that ion channelling will take place inside single crystals. This will enable us to use ion beam techniques in channeling configuration to study the defects and location of light elements in crystal lattice, performed in the frame of DeHydroC project.

Open Day on Accelerator

On Saturday 23.3. an open day was organized at the Microanalytical Center (MIC) at the Podgorica Reactor Centre. The number of visitors exceeded all expectations.

Brakethrough Article in Nuclear Materials and Energy Journal

Study of the location of deuterium in displacement-damaged tungsten by nuclear reaction analysis in channeling configuration was published last week in the prestigious Nuclear Materials and Energy Journal.

Publication in Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Journal

The article discusses the design and characterization of innovative bismuth germanate (BGO) scintillation detectors, used to filter out the Compton continuum from the spectra, acquired by high-purity germanium (HPGe) detectors.
