First Results of the Upgrade of the External Beamline Published

29.11.2021

An extensive upgrade of the external beamline at the microanalytical center of the Jožef Stefan Institute has been made in order to expand the capabilities of our set up towards in-air measurements of elemental distributions in the sample across relatively large surface area (~ 1 cm2) with lateral resolution of few tens of µm. The results of beam characterization and the first application of the updated system on elemental mapping in biology are presented. The paper has been published in the Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research B journal.
