Electron Screening @ IJS

15.10.2021

Electron screening is very important in nuclear astrophysics since for nucleosynthesis calculations, precise reaction rates should be known at energies within the Gamow window where electron screening cannot be neglected. However, in numerous experiments, different research groups obtained extremely high values of electron screening that are in several cases more than an order of magnitude above the prediction, given by this available theoretical model.

A review of our experimental research on electron screening effect and our newest experimental results will be presented by our colleague Aleksandra Cvetinović. The event will take place at the Reactor Center Podgorica, MIC building, room H40, on Friday, October 22th, at 11h.
