New X-ray Spectrometer on the External Proton Beam
The analytical capabilities of the upgraded beamline with the external proton beam, which provides in-air micro-PIXE analysis, were further expanded with the installation of a new PB-WDS (parallel-beam wavelength dispersive) X-ray spectrometer. The spectrometer combines polycapillary X-ray optics for efficient X-ray collection with diffraction on a flat crystal analyzer and achieves energy resolution in the eV range. Basic design of the spectrometer, main operation characteristics, together with the results of first measurements are presented in a recent paper published in the Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry.

New Goniometer at MIC
The new 6-axis goniometer with cooling and heating capabilities was installed at the INSIBA vacuum chamber on the ERDA/RBS beam line of our tandem accelerator.
